Independent business energy consultancy
Home / About
IM Energy Solutions is a UK business energy consultancy. We help organisations buy energy more sensibly, understand what they are actually being charged, and reduce what they use.
Our Approach
Business energy is a market most companies interact with once every few years, under time pressure, with incomplete information. Suppliers know that. It is why renewal offers arrive late and why the cheapest-looking quote is not always the cheapest contract.
Our job is to remove that asymmetry. We look at how your sites actually consume energy, test the market properly on your behalf, explain the trade-offs in language that does not require an energy background, and then stay involved so the contract you signed is the contract you are billed for.
We are paid to give you a defensible answer, not to move you for the sake of it. If your current arrangement is competitive, that is what we will tell you.
Options explained in plain English, with the catch stated rather than buried. If we cannot explain why a contract suits you, it probably does not.
Advice judged on what it does to your cost base and your risk, not on how progressive it sounds in a brochure.
A named person owns your account. When something goes wrong with a bill or a supplier, you know exactly who is dealing with it.
The relationship continues after the contract is placed. That is where bill errors get caught and where the next renewal is prepared for.
Every client works with a named consultant from this team.
Director
Imran Magre is a director of the business, with an engineering and operations background in multinational partnerships. He has worked with organisations carrying significant energy demand, focusing on practical ways to control and reduce cost. He tracks wholesale market movements, which informs the insight he gives clients on long-term energy planning, and is involved in solar development projects in East Africa.
Operations Director
James Bennett is operations director and works on energy purchasing and the strategy around it: strategic planning, risk management and market analysis. He tracks how geopolitical events feed through into energy prices and procurement strategy. His focus is on reducing clients’ exposure to price volatility across the contract term.
Energy Consultant
Oliver Hayes is an energy consultant with a commercial business background, and understands energy cost from the perspective of the owner or director carrying it. He advises on procurement strategy, risk and budget planning, and on the market and supply factors that move UK energy prices. He also flags government-backed grants and funding schemes that may be open to clients.
Energy Consultant
Nathan Clarke is an energy consultant working on energy procurement and management for business clients. He is hands-on with the detail of industry pricing structures, supplier market movements and contract terms, and matches clients to products that suit their requirements. He can also offer guidance where a business believes its contract is unsuitable.
Pricing Director
Adam Foster is pricing director and handles contract procurement and negotiation. He deals directly with suppliers when negotiating contract terms. He follows wholesale market movements, supplier behaviour and the international factors behind price changes, and translates them into procurement strategies matched to a business’s operational requirements.
Head of HR & Admin
Sophie Reed is head of HR and administration. She keeps the business running behind the scenes — looking after the team, coordinating day-to-day operations and handling account administration and onboarding. She is often the first point of contact when new clients are getting set up, making sure everything is organised and nothing slips through.
No jargon, no pressure, and no recommendation we cannot justify to your finance team.
A short conversation is usually enough to tell whether there is anything worth looking at. There is no obligation and no cost.
