Renewable and efficiency solutions

Independent assessment of efficiency measures, solar, battery storage and renewable tariffs, with the commercial case set out as clearly as the carbon case. We advise on what is worth doing; we do not sell you equipment.

Reduce before you generate

It is tempting to start with generation, because a solar array is visible and a controls upgrade is not. Commercially it is usually the wrong order.

Every unit you stop wasting is a unit you never have to buy or generate, and cutting demand first means any system you do install can be smaller, cheaper and better matched to how the site actually runs. We look at consumption before we look at kit.

A typical order of work

What we assess

Energy efficiency review

Where energy is being used, when, and which of that is avoidable. Lighting, heating and cooling, controls, scheduling and out-of-hours consumption.

Solar and battery storage

Whether your roof, site and demand profile suit generation, how much of what you generate you would actually use on site, and whether storage changes that answer.

Renewable tariffs

Where buying renewable-backed supply is the more practical route, we explain what the certification actually covers and what it does and does not let you claim in reporting.

Carbon reduction planning

A sequence of measures you can actually fund and evidence, aimed at the reporting your customers, lenders or tender processes are asking for.

The questions that decide it

Efficiency and generation projects succeed or fail on a small number of commercial and operational questions. We work through these with you before anyone talks about specification.

Renewables and efficiency questions

Yes. We assess whether it stacks up for your site and demand profile, and set out the commercial case alongside the carbon case. We advise on the decision rather than supplying the equipment, so the recommendation is not tied to selling you a particular system.

Not necessarily, and the answer depends on the route. A renewable-backed tariff may sit close to a conventional one, while on-site generation is a capital decision with a payback period rather than a straight price comparison. We would rather show you the numbers for your site than give you a general answer.

That is our usual recommendation. Reducing demand first lowers the size and cost of anything you subsequently install, and efficiency measures often have a shorter payback than generation. Consumption monitoring is normally where this starts.
